Student-Driven Conflict Resolution

WATSONVILLE — Conflict resolution programs, using students as peer mediators, are now in place at three Pajaro Valley Unified School District (PVUSD) schools.

Everyone agrees that it is critical that the District meet its AYP targets this year. The administration developed a LEA Plan last summer, which the Board approved. That plan specified a number of initiatives to improve academic achievement that are now being implemented throughout the District.

EETT Competitive Grant
|
PVUSD received this coveted grant for the 06-07 and 07-08 school years.
The primary goal of the Enhancing Education Through Technology (EETT) Competitive grant program is to provide funding for grades six through eight to assist schools to use technology to enhance teaching and to promote learning.

Welcome New Board Members
|
At the December 6, 2006, Pajaro Valley Unified School District will be welcoming three new Board members: Libby Wilson, serving Area I; Leslie L. De Rose, serving Area V; and Kim Turley, serving Area VII. They are bringing to the Board great diversity and a common priority goal of hiring a new superintendent who can lead the district in raising student achievement.

Parent Conference
|
The annual Parent Conference “Parents: Teachers and Partners” will be held February 3, 2007 at E.A. Hall Middle School. The Keynote will feature Jerry Tello and Sacred Circles speaking on Culture Heals with Aztec dancing, music and theater. Workshops for parents of children ages 0-18 will follow.
